Volunteer
CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS. If you are interested in volunteering at the library this summer, please come to a meeting on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM OR Sunday May 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM. We will be discussing what it means to volunteer at the library, what our expectations are and scheduling. If you know your availability in June, July and August, that would be very helpful.
As a volunteer you can . . .
- Learn new skills
- Meet new people
- Gain work experience
- Better your community
- Stay active
- Keep up with the newest programs, services, and book arrivals!
Volunteers are an important part of our Library, and we are always looking for responsible and dedicated volunteers.
Volunteers must be at least 14-years-old and be willing to work for at least two hours, one day a week. Volunteers must be able to alphabetize, organize, have a good sense of numbers, bend, and lift heavy objects. Schedule flexibility is preferred so that they can assist with programming as necessary.
We do assist in mandated community service hours, but it cannot be more than 20 hours and you must have at least two months to complete the hours. For high school students working towards completing 100 hours of community service, they must be a freshmen or sophomores, to ensure the number of hours can be accommodated.
You can either pick up a volunteer application form at the Library, or it can be downloaded online. Please return the form to the Circulation Desk when completed and we will contact you when an opportunity arises.
